tinkrcat

Terms & Privacy

Plain language, because the people using tinkrcat are kids.

What tinkrcat is

tinkrcat lets you make your own video games by describing them in a chat. You type what you want, and it builds a game you can play, change, and share.

Who can use it

You need to be 13 or older to make an account. If you're under 13, ask a parent or guardian — we're working on a proper way for younger kids to join with a grown-up's permission.

Your account

You pick a username and give us an email address. Please don't use your real full name as your username, and don't put personal details — your address, phone number, school, or anything that identifies where you are — into your games, titles, or chats.

Keep your login to yourself. You're responsible for what your account does.

The games you make

Your games are yours. You made them, you can change them, and you can delete them. We store them so you can come back to them, and so people you share them with can play them.

Games are built by AI, which means they sometimes come out broken, odd, or not quite what you asked for. That's normal. Ask for changes and try again.

Sharing

Games you save are public by default. That means anyone with the link can play them — including people without a tinkrcat account — and they can show up for others to discover.

You can switch any game to private from its page, and it stops being playable by others straight away. Parents: if you'd rather your child's games weren't public, switch them and email us — we're happy to help.

Being kind

Keep it friendly. No bullying, no mean or scary content aimed at anyone, nothing sexual, and nothing that shares personal information about you or anyone else.

We automatically check messages and game titles for this kind of thing, and we can remove content or accounts that break these rules.

What we collect

Your username and email address. The games you make. The chat messages you send to the game builder while building them.

We ask your birth month and year to check you're old enough. We use it for that check and then throw it away — we don't store your birthday.

If you attach a picture for style ideas, we look at it to pick colours and draw your character, and then we discard it. Pictures are never saved.

What we don't do

We don't sell your information. We don't show you ads. We don't use your data to track you around the internet.

Your chat with the game builder is private to you — other people can't read it, even on a game you made public.

Deleting things

You can delete any game from its page. You can delete your whole account from Settings, which removes your games along with it.

Parents: if you want your child's account and everything in it removed, email trust@tinkrcat.com and we'll do it — you don't need to have the login.

This is a beta

tinkrcat is early. Things will break, features will change, and games may occasionally be lost. Please don't rely on it for anything you can't bear to lose.

Getting in touch

Questions, problems, or something you want removed — email trust@tinkrcat.com and a real person will read it.
